29.11.2019 2 N "Democracy as active participation in political issues"

This is the report about the active citizenship project we carried out in class 2N last week (from 25.11.2019 to 29.1.2019):

pupils were invited to discuss about the idea of democracy as active participation in political issues;

kids were invited to reflect about the importance of being critical when participating in democratic elections as the people we designate as our representatives will actually decide for us and our country;

they defined the difference between State and Government of a country;

they did research to build up their knowledge of the Italian political system and compared/contrasted it with those of the UK and the USA;

they analysed the three political branches: legislative, executive, judicial;

finally kids produced posters now on the classroom walls so everytime they have a doubt or simply want to refresh their knowledge about these basic political issues, they just have to take a look at their work.
